At the same time they also aim to cut the costs and average call length. No call center is complete without the predictive dialer. There are various types of predictive dialers that may be both hardware based and software based. One such type of predictive dialer is the VoIP predictive dialer that generally uses Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) software for its functions. Though hardware problems are quite common, the problem with VoIP is usually a software related issue. When you speak into the microphone of your computer, sound travels to the sound card where it is converted into a digital signal, if your sound card doesn’t have the proper or updated drivers, it could sometimes fail to do this resulting in no sound at all. The best course of action when this happens is to check with your manufacturers website to see if they have released new drivers to fix or to add functionality to their devices. If the drivers you have are the most recent, you can try reinstalling it to replace certain files that could be missing.
Codecs on the other hand are the pieces of software that holds protocols in how to compress and store your digital voice signals so that it can be sent across the internet. If your sound card works but you still can’t use VoIP, then you should try to update your codecs using the Windows Update Program. You should also check if you do have divX installed since it also contains some codecs that your VoIP software might need.
